Tough, experienced, hand-to-hand fighters - veterans of the wars in the Rhineland and Low Countries perhaps. Or blooded and battle-hardened in the early years of war between King and Parliament. These men are professionals, well-trained and well-equipped.

Some may once have been gentlemen; others ordinary men who discovered a fatal talent for the sword. They’re in advancing, attacking and at ready postures, swords drawn. These men are not duellists though. They are hard-bitten English fighting men.
